Eleanor's Paintings

I look around and reflect on how enriching the study and practice of art, in particular painting, has been for me.

Lately I have been doing some cautious exploration in abstraction. Painting intuitively, without limits or rules; working mostly in oils and cold wax but also in acrylics and my old favorite, watercolours.

Making the connections  from the obvious to the intuitive is not easy.
Just the right dot at the right spot...nothing deliberate but happily exloring.

I have been inspired by painting sessions at the Yellowhouse, processing ideas about art alongside my talented friends.

Having hosted my own gallery “The Whaler Bay Studio” for the last nine  years I have learned a lot about painting and selling.  And the abstract work I have been immersed in may lead to another show in September. Stay tuned.

If you wish to see more work please call for an appointment at 250 539 2844.

“Futures in Pears”

Remember in the fall of 2013 how lovely and warm the weather for much longer than usual .The tomatoes and fruit were so sweet and so were the pears.

So I began this work with small watercolour sketches of pears
